HomeSchool Ballet Program
Students enrolled in the Yahweh Ballet Homeschool Program at Mossa Dance will receive instruction in ballet technique and choreography. Classes are Fridays from 10 am to 12 noon and include one hour of ballet instruction, plus one hour of choreography. Dancers in the Homeschool Program will perform in Mossa School of Dance's "Diamonds" Production to be held Saturday, March 31. "Diamonds" honors great women in history including Ruby Bridges, Susan B. Anthony, Joni Eareckson Tada, Bethany Hamilton of "Soul Surfer", Gladys Alyward evangelical Christian missionary to China, Helen Keller, Anne Frank, and Laura Ingalls Wilder. Dancers participating in the Homeschool class will be cast in the Gladys Alyward vignette of "Diamonds". Our vision is excellence in ballet, so your child will learn proper ballet technique and the art and discipline of ballet from Mossa School of Dance owner Alexis Gaetano. Gaetano is a Yahweh Ballet dancer and also serves as the lead choreographer and assistant director for Yahweh Ballet.
Students enrolled in the Homeschool Program will also dance in the year end choreography showcase that will be held Saturday, June 16. The piece they will work on for this production will be determined at a later time. Students ages 5 to 10 are invited to participate in this program.
The fee for the Homeschool Program at Mossa School of Dance is $50 per month payable to Mossa, plus a one time registration fee of $20 to CLOTHED WITH JOY if your dancer is not currently enrolled in a Mossa Dance or Yahweh Ballet program. Participants enrolled in the fall 2011 Homeschool Program need not pay this registration fee. Tuition is due the week of January 2, February 1, March 1, April 1, May 1 and June 1. Dance attire is black solid leotard, pink tights and pink ballet slippers. Hair is worn in a neat bun. No jewelry. There will be a costume fee of approximately $35 per dancer for the "Diamonds" production. The first day of class for the Winter/Spring semester is Friday, January 6. The final day of classes will be Friday, June 15.
